The Artists
1. Budak Belakang
Budak Belakang is a movement founded by Mr Syahir (a.k.a. Sir Badang) for the new generation of Hip-Hop music and culture. The culmination of an 8 episode series, the Budak Belakang Live Showcase features the up and coming talents of Malaysia’s Hip Hop scene who transform their artistic voices into various forms of art, music and dance.
2. Lawalah Familia
Lawalah Familia, a name synonymous with Malaysian Hip Hop which was established in 2013. Lawalah Familia has shown tremendous success with their first mixtape, Ramai Lagi Lawa: The Mixtape. Lawalah Familia mission is to bring unity in Malaysia Hip Hop culture to the next level through music and events. Known for their friendliness and treating their fans as family.
3. Sabbala
Born Muhammad Yusuf Mazelan in Kajang, Selangor, Sabbala settling in Semenyih from youth until now. At the age of 15, he began rapping and producing beats, adopting the name "Muyu Mizzy" which soon morphed into Sabbala. A lyrical emcee is known for his rawness and hard lyricism and is a producer who serves hype, raw, and turn-up beats.
4. Danye
Any fan of the local music scene in Malaysia would’ve heard of Perak-born artist Danye or more commonly known as Daney On The Beat. Fans might immediately associate his name to that of American rapper Kanye, whom Danye looks up to. He’s usually found performing his homemade tunes at Underground events held at places like The Bee. Born and raised in Perak, Danye might seem like a guy who’s always out and about but truth is, he’s a bit of a homebody.
Besides crafting songs and rapping, Danye also has a knack for producing tracks. He’s worked with big names in the industry such as Zizan Razak, DJ FUZZ, Eyza Bahra and more on chart-topping hits . His songs have also been aired on local radio stations, television programs and even stadiums.
